- Where would you rather be?
- How will it feel when you get there?
- What has been stopping you?
- How serious are you?
Once on the phone, don’t be too overwhelmed, you need to keep your posture. Use their first name but never Miss or Mister, this will put you in a position of inferiority. No sale voice also, act as if you talk to someone you already know, that you understand their situations and want top help.
Don’t start saying “How are you today?” or “Are you busy?” But “I know you are busy but I’ll be brief/ it will take only a few minutes”
Don’t assume anything, ask what problem they encounter and give them a solution. Try to find a way to compliment them, if they say something great about their business or even if you saw something on their Facebook profile. Boost their confidence and if you had a previous contact with them, just mention something you talked about before. So the importance to always take notes!!!!
If you need to leave a voicemail, it has to be done under 60 seconds and offer clear value otherwise they will never call you back or when they’ll see your phone number calling again, they won’t answer!
The part we all hate!!! Hostile and aggressive prospects!!
Even if you have someone on the other side of the phone very hostile, you need to keep your posture, your confidence because you know that your product/service is good. You are an expert in your domain and they most of the time don’t know much about what you are doing. You are just on the phone to help them and this situation shouldn’t discourage you, and if they don’t want you help, you know you can help others.
Let the bully rant before you say anything. Silence can be just as intimidating as aggression. By using friendly strength and keeping calm, you can turn the tables. Even if it is not immediate, they might come back to you a month/3 months after.
But don’t beg prospects to join you or you will lose completely your authority figure and this prospect will be gone forever. Always be polite and try to take control of the situation. You could say :”I appreciate that this is the way you feel. Let me clarify a few thing!”
